Good Sugar, Bad Sugar Saturday Snippets 4/28/12

I just had to share this. I don’t really know why it makes me laugh, but it does. It’s a very quick explanation of good sugar vs bad sugar.
Yes, I know there’s a lot more we could say and tell kids (and I think we should) but if you can get your kids being silly and deciding what’s good and bad sugar… well, let’s just say humor is a great tool for slipping information in.
I hope you enjoy it – see you Monday!

Esther Gokhale Authors@Google Saturday Snippets 4/21

After sharing the book 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back (affiliate) Thursday I thought some of you might enjoy watching her talk she did at Google. Listening to her is what convinced me to try it – along with seeing a difference just by trying some of her principles.
I hope you enjoy listening to her as much as I did!

Have a great weekend. Remember to enter the giveaway (it ends at midnight 4/22/12)!

Saturday Snippets 4/14/12 Egg-Avocado

I found several post on a new way to cook avocados, and I can’t quite decide whether I would want to try it or not so I thought that I would run it by you and ask: have you tried cooking it this way? And if so what did you think?

Sounds like it would be a filling breakfast and great for GAPS/Paleo people, but I’ not so sure about putting the avocado in the oven. Hot avocado?
That’s why I figured I’d share it. So if you’re more adventurous than I an try it first you can let me know – thumbs up or down.
Here are some of the links I found:

Deep in the Heart… of Arkansas? had Eggvocado… Say What?
The Kitchen is my Playground had Baked Eggvocado
Life Hacker had Bake an Egg in an Avocado for a Fast and Healthy Breakfast Treat

What’s your gut reaction?

Healthy Easter Egg Dye Recipes Saturday Snippets 4/7/12

I love the colors egg shells can turn, and some eggshells are pretty enough – in their natural color – to be Easter eggs themselves.
Like this one (oh, it’s so pretty!):

photo from Green Fire Farms
But Mommypotamus (I always struggle with spelling that!) has you covered with a post on How To Dye Easter Eggs Naturally With Everyday Ingredients!
I love the colors she got and it so nice to know when you use safe, healthy ingredients that you don’t have to worry about your kids playing in the dye. And on top of it you don’t have to spend a bunch of money just use what you already have!

I hope you have a great weekend!

The Picture is from Urban Poser – doesn’t she take great pictures? I wonder what camera she uses… might have to ask.
